    little

There's a difference between 'little' and 'a little'. 'Little' has a negative meaning but 'a little' has a positive meaning. Does this difference exist only when 'little' is a determiner? When it's an adjective isn't there this difference?

    Yes.

No. When "little" acts as an adjective, this issue does not arise.
