    Momís sink

Hi, does "Momís sink" mean that there is a Dad's one and a kids' one or more, and everybody has his/her own sink?
"Rowley didnít want to get his hair wet, so he wore a shower cap we found underneath Momís sink." (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Double Down, Jeff Kinney).

    Re: Momís sink

We can only infer from the quoted sentence that Mom has her own sink. We can't tell how many other sinks there are for the rest of the family.

I wonder if it looks normal to you that Mom (or whoever) has her own sink?

The wimpy kid is telling us about his home life. We've no right to judge.

I am not judging at all, I just try to learn our culture differences.

    Fair enough.

Knowing nothing about the book, I get the impression that Mom is a strong character and the undisputed boss of the kitchen (in other rooms, sinks are usually called wash-basins).

    Re: Momís sink

Actually the Mom’s sink is in the bathroom here. "After we wrapped things up in the kitchen, we went upstairs to film the bathroom scenes. Rowley didn’t want..."

    Re: Momís sink

It's probably in the bathroom attached to "Mom's room" (that is, the master bedroom). The kids think of it as Mom's sink, cause it's in Mom's bathroom.

    Re: Momís sink

Right. The shower cap should have given me a clue that it wasn't in the kitchen. It might be in a bathroom with two wash-basins—the other being Pop's sink—and the children having their own bathroom.

Is there nothing in the diary giving you a clue about this?

    Unfortunately, no.
