Hello everyone,

I remember a few days ago, I was watching a documentary and I heard a native speaker pronounce solution like this: SOLUSEN

I have been checking the dictionaries but I can't find this pronunciation. In which accent / dialect is solution pronounced like that?

Solution isn't pronounced that way in any dialect I'm aware of.

Do you have a link to that documentary? Are you sure the word in question was "solution"?

That's not how it's pronounced in any variant. If you want to hear native speakers from all over the globe saying a word, head to Forvo.

I am 100% sure that sometimes they pronounce negotiate like this : Negociate.

But that pronunciation is not on the website you have mentioned.

I should have been clearer - I didn't mean that you should use only Forvo. I meant that it's useful as an addition to pronunciations given in dictionaries.

As you can see here, the spelling used to be "negociate" but that spelling (and presumably the associated pronunciation) is now considered obsolete. There are bound to be a few people sticking with it.

Many people say negosiate but nobody says solusion, unless by accident or if they have some kind of speech impediment.
