Have I made any mistakes?

Although Tom was conservative by nature, he never liked Margaret Thatcher. He found her reserved, stiff and false. Whenever he heard her talking, he cringed and felt as if he was listening to a robot, reading to a preprogrammed list of phrases. When Mrs Thatcher resigned, Tom went to a nearby pub and ordered drinks all around. As he sipped his beer, he felt as if a new phase in his life had just begun and he was looking forward to a bright future.
