Private message boxes

Is it at all feasible to increase the capacity of the private message boxes? They're awfully small.

Mine is constantly overflowing, forcing me to delete messages that I'd rather not delete.

Interesting coincidence. (This thread.) I recently deleted all of my messages since that seemed to be the only feasible option.

Out of curiosity, what's the limit? I've got 385 incoming and 280 sent items. I've never had a warning about it being even close to full. I have no idea why I've even still got those messages, to be honest. I actually want to keep about ten of them. No doubt clearing out those boxes will be something I'll get round to during lockdown!

When I was a general member I had a very low limit. I hit it repeatedly and had to clear my mailboxes. I think it was a hundred messages.

Now that I'm a moderator, that limit has gone away.

Yeah, it's 100 for non-mods. That figure includes both Inbox and Sent items.

I can ask the Webmaster to ramp it up.

• Registered Users (< 10 posts) can't use messages (as it's always been)
• Registered Users (10 - 499 Posts) now have up to 500 messages
• Registered Users (500+ Posts) now have up to 1,000 messages (same as Mods)
