Am I right both sentences are correct and usable?

Andy’s car has the same colour as Laura’s car.

Andy’s car is the same colour as Laura’s car.

You'd need a very special reason to use has. If you don't have one, it's wrong.

Use is.

You could say that Andy has a car the same colour as Laura's.
