Hi.

My cousin told me he's going to hike tomorrow. I gave him a suggestion "If you go hiking, a pair of hiking boots is a must-have" when I noticed that he wanted to wear his sneakers.

Is my italic suggestion good?

It sounds more like an ad than a conversation. I'd say something like You're going to need a pair of boots.

According to CB and GS, can I understand that the sentence "If you go hiking, a pair of hiking boots is a must-have" is natural, but it's for a magazine or something.

Am I right?

What other possible understanding could you reach from those posts?

You know, teacher Piscean and Ems, I am not always sure if I understand all of you correctly. I know I have been told that "If there is another mistake, we will tell you" many times, I am still a bit slow sometimes. However, I'll try not to ask questions like this here again because I know all of you are meticulous and will always point out my misktaes.

Thanks a lot!
