    What is the difference between "have" and "have got" in British English and American English?

    And if you want to learn more about differences between British and American English, The Prodigal Tongue is an entertaining book.
    I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
