What makes you think one might be incorrect?

I learnt that generally, the participle should be employed with a noun or pronoun which it qualifies. The omission of such a noun or pronoun is wrong. For example,

A) Standing on the shore, my eye roams over the sea.

In this sentence, standing apprears to qualify eye, while it means a person. The correct form should, therefore, be-As I'm standing on the shore, my eye roams over the sea. So I thought that 1) is correct and 2) is incorrect.

A) Standing on the shore, my eye roams over the sea.

In this sentence, standing apprears to qualify eye . . .

But in (2), "walking" relates to "I," just as it should; "I" immediately follows the participial clause of which it is the understood subject.
