can someone please explain the difference in meaning of these two sentences:

A. He went on to talk about pollution vs. B. He went on talking about pollution

What is the difference and how could you make this clear ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: difference in meaning and explanation

Can someone please explain the difference in meaning [STRIKE]of[/STRIKE] between these two sentences?

A. He went on to talk about pollution. [STRIKE]vs.[/STRIKE]
B. He went on talking about pollution.

What is the difference and how could you make this clear? How could I make what clear?

[STRIKE]Thanks in advance for your help.[/STRIKE] Unnecessary. Thank us after we help you, by clicking on the Thank button.

[STRIKE]KhunDan[/STRIKE] Unnecessary.

Please note my changes above.

First, tell us what you think the difference could be between "went on to + bare infinitive" and "went on verb+ing".

Edit: While my internet connection was playing around, Piscean posted his response. KhunDan, you were lucky this time - we don't normally just give out the answers! In future, please tell us your thoughts in post 1.
