    dear teacher,
    Can you explain to me in detail what is the difference between even if and even though? thanks!

    'Even' basically makes the word it is modifying stronger.

    1. Even if he comes, I won't speak to him. (Here, I think it is unlikely that he will come)

    2. Even though he came, I refused to speak to him. (He came, but I didn't speak to him.)

    The first is imaginary, but the second is real.
