Placement of adverbial clause

Not a native speaker. I am confused with a grammatical issue.

I read this the following sentence online -

"Chocolate, because it has a low melting point, can be difficult to bake with."

As I know, an adverb should be placed (other proper positions are also possible) after an auxiliary modal verb, e.g. can, should, has, have, etc.. I wonder if the adverbial clause "because......" should be repositioned to after "can" (modal verb) and before "be" (finite verb), and if the above sentence should be rewritten to -

"Chocolate can, because it has a low melting point, be difficult to bake with."

The alternative is okay, but so is the original.

I don't know why the low melting point of chocolate would be a problem. I think the opposite should be true.

No, it shouldn't. Don't think of the interrupting 'because'-phrase here as an adverb in the same way as single word adverbs.

With an 'interrupted' kind of sentence such as this, it's usually better to put the interruption phrase immediately after the subject.

Your version is perhaps grammatical, but it's extremely awkward. The original is fine.
