    articles and prepositions???

I am of two minds when it comes to the insertion of articles and prepositions. I have put a lot endeavors to learn their correct placing. But I still sometimes get a mass of confusion.
Is, for example, it necessary to use “at” before the word “home” when we say “I am at home”. I have heard a lot of Native English Speakers say “ I am home” instead of “I am at home”
Could someone please help me learn their correct insertion and let me know even if I have made a mistake in this post?
    Thank you

It is correct to say I am home or I am at home. This is an exception because "home" can be used as an adverb. It is similar to I am here.

Your post was fine, but I don't think you are of two minds. This can mean confused. but it is about two options. I think you are confused. Don'e be discouraged. Prepositions and articles are two difficult subjects.

In some uses, they have the same meaning. If one is talking to someone outside the home, both can be used. If one is announcing one's arrival, "I'm/I am home is the only acceptable choice.
