Hello.

When it rains, the lights on the streets appear to be stretched and skewed on the wet ground. I'm trying to find a nice way to express that. Maybe this painting will help you with what I mean:

Okay, what about this?

It was a gray September afternoon. The rain was pelting. The cars lights stretched and skewed on the wet asphalt.

There is only one 'v' in 'quivered'.

It is not the lights which quivered, but their reflections on the film of water on the road surface.

I like it. It's an unusual use of skewed, but in a good way.
