    Communicative Language Approach

    Hello guys!
First of all, I'm new here and I really need your help :)
What do you think about Communicative Language Teaching, is it effective and what kind of books can a teacher use while teaching with this method?

    Thank you in advance ❤

    Re: Communicative Language Approach

    Welcome to the forum NatalieGeo.

Please note that I have moved your thread here from General Members' Discussions.

In my teaching days I only used the Communicative Language Approach. As an untrained teacher it was all I knew, but also it was the policy of the government-run school I taught in.

We did not use books. Many of our students were illiterate (at least in English) and all were newcomers to Canada. Our goal was to get them sufficiently familiar with the spoken language to get and hold a factory or labouring job. As far as I know, the CL method was reasonably successful at that.
