Hi there,

I have a question regarding using the word "community".
The community (is or are) experiencing low paid jobs.

Thank you

You will hear both forms used. In American English people tend to use singular verbs with collective nouns, nouns for groups. British English can use both, though the plural is more common in most cases. I wouldn't use experiencing there. I'd say something like most of the jobs the community can get are low paid.
