    The weather was really polluted that week.

    Is this correct and natural?

    The weather was really polluted that week. The sun gave off a ghostly glow amid the smog. As I walked home, bitter tasting smoke coated my mouth.

    It is now!
    I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
