Jelly candies?

Worm fruit gummies?

What is the verb for consuming them? Eating or chewing?

"Jelly Worms" in the UK. Both "eat" and "chew" work.

Note that "jelly" in the UK is "jell-o" in the USA. "Jelly" in the USA is "jam" in the UK (totally different foods!)

Let's say I use "gummy worms". Would a British reader be confused by reading it?

And what if I use "jelly worms"? Would that be confusing to an American reader?

When it comes to conserves, in AmE we use jam for those made from whole fruits. Jelly, on the other hand is similar but made from fruit juice.

Note that "jelly" in the UK is "jell-o" in the USA. Not really. "Jell-O" is a brand name for a variety of gelatin desserts/snacks. "Jelly" in the USA is "jam" in the UK (totally different foods!) Also, in the U.S. jam has a different consistency (usually thicker than jelly) and made differently from jelly.

Just to clarify, emsr2d2 is right. "Jelly" in the UK is what Americans call "Jell-O" or other brands of sweet, flavored gelatin.

Not really- the context should make it clear enough.
