Like I've said several times before, the best word to use depends on what you actually mean. Are you looking for another word that means 'interrupted'? If so, why do you need a different word?

If you just want a word that means something like 'characterised by', then racked is a good collocation.

Good suggestion! Even after Googling it, I'm still fuzzy on the line between racked (tortured) and wracked (ruined).

"Fraught" also works. It rides the line between verb and adjective.
