    Question Tense

    Hello,

    I am a bit confused with the following sentences

    I don't know which is correct here
    1)

    a) Your mother has been having a lot of difficult decisions to make recently

    or

    b) Your mother has had a lot of difficult...

    2)
    The manager asked me why...
    a) I didn't mention the design problem before
    or
    b) I hadn't mention the design...

    1a: Indicates that the mother has been having, and continues to have, a lot of difficult decisions to make.
    1b: Indicates that the mother had to make difficult decisions in the past, but no longer has to make them.

    2a and 2b are both correct and have the same meaning. 2b should read: The manager asked me why I hadn't mentioned the design problem before.
