The following is a simplified sentence: Now in an exhibition, visitors watch as Mr. Yang makes paper as the Chinese have made it since AD105.My question is about "...as...as...".Thank you.

In this case "as" would mean two things, "as"=at the same time and "as"= in the same way. I'd use "like" substituting the second "as" if you don't want to use it two times.

as...as... can also express equality: He's as intelligent as his brother.

I'm not sure what your question exactly is, though.
