I am not sure what leave means in the second line. Aren't these three sentences? The second doesn't work for me because death can come in many ways. I would use after in the last.

Here, "leave" means that when you die, people around you will leave you, and vice versa as both parties can't see each other any more.

It hurts and bothers me, but it's better for people to leave.
