I wrote this myself "The proud birds get easily cut down". The intended meaning is "One who's overly proud is easily to be seen and therefore be get rid of".

I believe there's an idiom/proverb in English but I can't think of that.

Someone suggested "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down" but I think it doesn't fit here.

Why do you think "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down" doesn't fit? The way you described the intended meaning, I'd say it fits perfectly, as well as the one suggested by Tdol.

"The nail that sticks out gets hammered down" is used as a metaphor, but it also has a real life application, which is why people can understand it. Yours doesn't have a real life application. (Trees are cut down. Birds aren't.)

Are you hoping it will catch on?
:)
