In AmE, conference call is correct. Call is the noun and conference is the adjective. Call is usually a verb, as in "I should call my mother this evening."

Another sentence in which call is a noun: The mayor put out a call for volunteers to fight the fire.

    or verb:
The mayor called a conference to discuss the city budget.
    Regards

Thanks for the insight, but still, donīt you say video conference? So, I thought it would be more logical to do the same for a conference that is done via phone and thus say call conference...we also have a press conference...so ..besides that, there are some business people who do say a call conference, while others say itīs the other way round, and thatīs why Iīve decided to post it here..Letīs see if we get another opinion on this one...

Call coference is better because it's better to pronounce. The main word is "conference" and the word 'call' is just defining what type of conference it is.

Both are used, but it seems that 'conference call' is much more common (17,900,000 against 323,000 in Google).
