It's alive and well in BrE.

Hello,
Long ago I found this simile in The American Thesaurus of Slang. I wonder if it's still alive.
TIA
It's alive and well in BrE.
Could you elaborate on its usage please? I mean in what walks of life etc.
Tnx
"Walks of life" aren't really relevant. It's just a general purpose, rather informal, slightly old-fashioned (I mean I'd say it, but most young people wouldn't), expression of certainty. A probable derivation is given here: As sure as eggs is eggs, 28/09/05, Ian Jones

Thanks, Bob. That's what I'm always interested in.
