    Re: Football [soccer]

    hi
Congradulations to Croatia team. They just won their match in qualifier~~we are now number 3~~
I agree with you Beckham is very good as right midfielder. I still support him!Although he is slow but he is much better than poor players like jenas, richardson..McClaren should understand it..and yeah..they are struggling as usual!!

    Re: Football [soccer]

Watching England is a dismal experience at the moment.

Robinson has only one idea: hoof the ball as far up the pitch as possible, and hope for the best.

The back four have only two ideas: a) hoof the ball as far up the pitch as possible and hope for the best; b) pass the ball aimlessly between themselves a few times, and then hoof the ball, etc.

The midfield have only three ideas: a) hoof the ball back to the back four or Robinson; b) pass the ball aimlessly between themselves before losing it c) hoof the ball up the pitch to Michael Owen, even though he's not playing at the moment.

I don't know what ideas the strikers have, apart from scowling in a disbelieving fashion at the linesmen (Rooney), running towards the corner flag and then hoofing it across for Michael Owen, even though he isn't playing (Johnson), looking a bit sulky because he never gets a game on a Saturday (Defoe), and grinning sheepishly at the fans after perfectly un-executing a bicycle kick (Crouch).

The only time I feel remotely hopeful is when Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, or Aaron Lennon have the ball. (Or when Owen Hargreaves takes it off an opposing midfielder.) But then they make the mistake of passing it to one of our resident hoofers...

Well, Celtic just beat Man. Utd 1-0 in the Champions' League.

It wasn't a bad game. Nakamura scored from a free kick.
