    Which one is correct?

    1-A forest is normally a group planting of trees which are all planted in random

    2-A forest is normally a group planting of trees which are all planted at random

    It should be "at random", but most forests weren't planted by anyone.

    What induced the error shown in [1] may have been the phrase 'in random order'. The phrases 'in random order' and 'at random' are very close in meaning.
