    at / during Christmas

    Hello.

The rule goes that you say 'at Christmas' and 'at Easter', but 'on Christmas day'.

So in the following sentence 'at' must be used.:
All the hotels close down except for a few days at Christmas.

Why can't I say: ... a few days during Christmas.

Is it possible to say: 'during Christmas time I'm going away for a few days.'?

Thanks in advanced for your help.

I think "during Christmas" or "over Christmas" would be fine.
    "Duiring Christmastime" is fine.
