    correct them please!

    I'm trying to describe some pictures but I 'm not so sure about them. Please help me with it
    • there are two travellers, one man and one woman (or I should use a couple), are asking a local people for directions.
    • A broadcaster is reading on a news programme

    I think the first sentence can be that way:
    There are two travellers, a man and a woman

    The second one :
    The broadcaster is reading the news

    I hope I am right

    Another choice:

    Two travellers, a man and a woman, are asking [a local person/some local people] for directions.
