Earlier today someone i know said that he did something for me which was a good thing for him to do. What came into my mouth was : I am flattered by what you did for me.
So, he didn't seem to have received my message the way i wanted to say. I was trying to tell him that it was so good of him to do that for me.
Did i say something wrong or what is the real meaning of "I am flattered"?
Please, help me i am confused.
'Flattery' can be artificial, so it might be better to say 'delighted' or something similar.
