    Which is correct?

    Which is correct grammer:

Lady Liberty has awoke and she is ticked.

Lady Liberty has awoken and she is ticked.

Or is there some wording more proper?

I am putting together a paper.

    Thank you so much.

    Karen

You need a past participle there: awoken; "awoke" is in the past tense.

    Re: Which is correct?

Lady Liberty has woken and she is ticked

    or

Lady Liberty has woken up and she is ticked

Sounds a bit like Napoleon's quote

'Let China sleep, for when she wakes she will shake the world'
