    as

Members of society have varying degrees of market strength in terms of information they bring to a transaction, as well as of purchasing power and creditworthiness, as defined by lenders.

what does the "as" mean here? though or because?

    thanks

    Re: as

It means that the definitions for 'purchasing power and creditworthiness' are those used by lenders, who would have tougher criteria than borrowers.
