    Smile meaning

Does "gone" as an adj. mean "dead"? Do we say my grandfather is gone?
    Thanks

    Re: meaning

It can be used when the person has died recently- when a frienf of mine died a few years ago, another friend rang and said that he had gone of a way of telling me he had died.
