    Do I need the "in" in the following sentence? I guess I might need it but am not too sure. Thanks for your help.

    - My brother will be in Hong Kong (in) early part of December.

    The "in" is optional, but you need "the" before "early" in either case.

    or you can say 'in early December' and forget about 'the part'
