    Question As much

    Hi,

    Are these sentences correct?

    Merry christmas 'to you'.

Hope the new year bring you 'as much joy and success as you can handle'

Is it OK to say 'Merry Christmas to you'?

'as much joy and success as you can handle' , Is that correct?

    Thanks a lot

Merry christmas 'to you'. A bit odd. You might hear it in a response:

    'Merry Christmas.'
    'Merry Chistmas to you too.'

You might also hear it at the beginning of a list: 'Merry Christmas to you and everyone at home.'

Hope the new year brings you 'as much joy and success as you can handle'

    PS
'as much ... as you can handle' is OK, but it's more usual to wish someone 'as much ... as you could wish for yourself'
