    Any Numbers

    Dear Teachers,

    A. The guy who get rejected the most is the guy who will leave with the most numbers.
    - Does "numbers" have a figurative meaning in this sentence?

    B. Is there a number I can reach you at?
    - I think "Are there any numbers ..............?" is better, right?

    Thanks a million

    Re: Any Numbers

    A. What's the context? As is I get the reading that number means telephone number, but then again that just doesn't seem right, he being rejected and all.

    B. If you know the person has more than one contact number, then, yes, that'd work just fine.

    Happy Holidays.
