Re: meaning of "by all reports"

    Hello Unreg

"By all reports" usually means "by all accounts".

If I say "By all accounts, MrQ is a very unpleasant person", it means that everybody has said that MrQ is unpleasant.

An "account" is "what someone says about something".

    All the best,

    MrP
