    wh question

    When I say "where are you from" in answer do we use the name of the country or the name of the city?

    It depends on who you are speaking with-if you are sure that the person lives in your country, you answer with the name of the city you live in. If you are sure that the person doesn't live in your country, answer with the name of your country. If you are unsure, answer with both-for example, "I live in Boston in the United States."
