    My question is about starting a formal letter.
    When adressing; which one is correct
    Dear Madam/Sirs
    Dear Madam/Sir
    Thank you for your help!

    Dear Madam or Sir,

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    There is a nice list of terms here: SCU | Equity Services | Publications | Non-Discriminatory Language Guidelines

    Moreover, you could also try a "to" line. Like this,

    To the Editor:
