    Meaning of entity

Animals have four legs. [Some animals is better, because not all animals have four legs.]
"some animals" is the entity in question; here, it is a singular item.

What is the meaning of entity here?

    Re: Meaning of entity

It means that the words are considered as a single unit 'some animals' and it is saying that 'some animals' is a better subject for the sentence than just 'animals'.
