    Also 'Thanks be [to God]' - a fossilized subjunctive.

    But

    'Thank Heaven[s]" - no S after thank, optional S after Heaven.

    I'd say "thanks to" is similar to "due to" in your example: Due to your help we....

    The first refers to future time and the second to the past, so the project hasn't been finished in the first but has in the second. The second could also refer to future time, but it would mean that it wasn't certain that the project would finish on time.

    By the way, it's better to start a new thread if you have a new question- that way you're more liekly to get a quick answer and it will be in a relevant thread.
