    The 'R' in Toys R Us, is a shorter version of the word are. They just shortened it up it bit. I think everyone knows the chain Toys R Us.

    Yes, in fact it's become something of a cliche or joke to describe any large specialty store (Plumbing Fixtures R Us!) Also, humorist Dave Barry often refers to the toy store giant as "Toys R 98% of the Gross National Product."
