    Doubt In Usage

    Hi!
    please read these two sentences:
    1.Brazil stormed into the semifinal of the championship.
    2 Brazil stormed into the semifinals of the championship.
    which of these two sentences is correct?

    I think you should use "semifinal"-it seems like the sentence only deals with one particular event.
    Semifinals is usually used to refer to the entiretyof the stage of the championships.
