    Question Half with...?

    Hello,

I have questions from some drama.

    *Here's a situation.

A father and his son are in a restaurant, and a waitress approaches
    with a tray.

Waitress: Half with olives. We aim to please.
Father: Well… You hit the bull’s-eye.

    The waitress smiles and leaves.

    **Question
I wonder what "half with olives" mean. Does the waitress mean they
    don't have enough olives??
And does the father mean the waitress pleases his eyes??

    Thank you,
    Tara

    Re: Half with...?

I think it means that his order is as he asked for it 'Half of it with olives'

We aim to please means that the restaurant tries hard to keep the customer satisfied.

He is using a play on words basically saying that her aim is good she's delivered exactly what they wanted and he is satisfied with that.

    Re: Half with...?

The tray undoubtedly contains a pizza, half of which has olives on it,

    Hello curmudgeon,
(I don't think you are a curmudgeon, though)

Thank you very much for your kind explanation.
Now I can watch the rest of the drama.

    Thank you,
    Tara

    Yes, you are right.
I hadn't seen what was on the tray, but can see the son is eating pizza now.

    Thank you!

Of course I'm not, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have an antonym so I'm stuck with it... but I quite like it, it seems to command some respect
