    Cool possessive adjective

    i already asked this question but im still a little be confused about which sentence is correct It's Jesus's car or It's Jesus' car?

    In case of historical figures with names ending with an s, write this way:

    Moses'
    Jesus'
    etc

    Historical names is the operative word

    Louis's is OK
    But not Louis'

    Here is what my grammar book says :

    Classical nouns or less usual names ending in s should take only the apostrophe :
    e.g. Pythagoras' Theorem
    Archimedes' Law
    Sophocles' plays
    Pears' soap
    Socrates' followers
    Jesus' blessings

    Other names ending in s can take 's or the apostrophe alone :
    Mr. Jones's car (or Mr Jones' car)
    Mr. Yeasts's poems (or Mr. Yeats' poems)
