Red face in bail , on bail

He was released on/in bail of HK$5,000 and ordered to report back to the police in a month.

    1. Should I say in bail or on bail in the above sentence?
    2. What are the differences between in bail and on bail?
    Thanks

Re: in bail , on bail

    'On bail'

'In bail' would be used when the preposition came from another word- a reduction in bail, etc.
