    Did not + Had not

    Hi

    Can we use didn't with had? Say for instance, I didn't had that good fortune when I was young? If this is correct, what tense would it be and can you give an example in negative sentence didn't + hadn't? Thank you.

    No, "didn`t" doesn`t go with "had". The verb is " have" here and its negative form in the past simple is "didn`t have" for all persons.

    e.g. I didn`t have...

    But you can say "I had not[ hadn`t]" though the verb "have" is ususally conjugated with the help of the auxiliary verb "do" [ respectively "did" in the past]
