    which one is correct

    strong winds knocked my doors down
    strong wind knocked my doors down

    You could just say 'a strong wind knocked my doors down', but you'd normally add 'gust of'. If you use the plural, it implies that there were several gusts anyway, so it would sound rather odd to say 'Strong gusts of wind...'.

    The verb knocked is a bit odd; I'd say 'blew'.
