Both are correct. The former is a common collocation of speech and the latter is used in formal writing and formal speech.

    Hi,
I've read that try and is used for the present and future, while try to for the past:
I'll try and sort it out.
You should try and find a way to please her.
We tried to reduce our expenses.

    Do you agree with it?

    Tnx.

I'd agree that 'try and do' is generally not used in the past, but both 'try to do' and 'try and do' are used in the present and future. 'Try and' sounds more informal than 'try to'.
