    Re: help

    Hi Roya,

It would be unusual to use the term 'how are you? in a formal letter. It is more likely to be used in a personal way.

Also you have made quite a few spelling and grammatical errors...

    Dear sir/madam,

I translate correspondence from Persian to English and I need some information about formal letters.

At the moment I have one question: do English speakers use 'how are you?' in their formal letters?

I would be grateful if you could help me with this.

    yours sincerely.
